Golden Retrievers came into our lives in 1990. Timber (Shane’s Timberland Legacy, 1990 - 2002) taught us an important lesson: when shopping for a dog, an AKC registration does not mean the dog is structurally sound. Regardless of her faults, Timber was a wonderful golden whose personality made us fall in love with her and the breed.

Six years later, Cassidy (MACh Cassidy’s Golden Mello Yello ADHF, 1996 - 2009 ) joined the family. I had wanted to breed goldens but no reputable breeder would give me the time of day because I wasn’t showing… in anything. I looked at the various venues and since I was fairly athletic, agility looked like a good fit. It took two weeks to get the courage to sign up for an agility class. I didn't have a clue as to what the obstacles were, or how to maneuver through them. But Cassidy made it easy; she was a dream to train: no treats, no toys, she just wanted my approval.

Then lesson #2 was learned: health clearances are not a 100% guarantee against inherited diseases.

Well, the third time was the charm when Tres (Jeryco Emily Victoria MX MXJ AXP AJP OD, 2000 - ) came to us and two years later produced the first AgilGold litter.

Our philosophy is simple - breed healthy, structurally sound golden retrievers with the true “golden” temperament. AgilGold Retrievers have proven themselves in the family home, as well as in the performance and service venues. Our "kids" and now the "grandkids" are proof of the quality dogs I had always intended to produce. Our goldens are ideally suited for any family. Should you want to compete, our pups have intelligence, focus, and drive. Our goldens will work tirelessly to please you, and I believe you will be successful in whatever venue you choose.
